The Digital Innovation Award is distinguished for innovators and technology pioneers, as participants will be trained and mentored by elite international & local field experts. In addition, the winning teams will be granted as digital enabling incentives with a total value of 500,000 Saudi Riyals, which will be employed according to the projects needs and winning place from both tracks.

The bootcamp starts on November 28th – December 22nd, 2022 and is held virtually for a month for both tracks.

The Digital Patent track is a track for patent holders in the field of communications and information technology whom carry a registered certification from the Saudi Authority for Intellectual Property. The patent holder solves an existing problem in the market that can be prototyped.

The Digital Research track is a track for holders of research in the field of communications and information technology that solves a current problem in the market and can be prototyped. Research should be attributed to one of the university levels (Bachelor, Master, PhD) or accredited research institutions.

Once the call closes, a group of experts will review all applications. Experts will score applications based on originality, quality, market potential and development team. The Organization will contact all applicants to inform them about selection process results.

The award consists of two tracks: the digital research track and the digital patent track.

Studios can expect to dedicate an average of 5-6 hours per day to The Developers Zone II training and production follow-up, throughout 2 months, starting in mid-August and ending around mid-October. This is not a full-time incubator.

The Developers Zone II will offer to the best teams additional economic aid to cover concrete needs, like hiring professionals to add missing roles to the teams or outsourcing tasks to increase publishing opportunities.

The Developers Zone II main goal is to strengthen the video games industry in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. We train incubated teams to improve their production pipeline and to maximize their business opportunities.

The Developers Zone II lasts two months. In the first month the training is focused on production and game design, and its goal is to make teams realize the importance of implementing agile methodologies in order to improve project management, planning and performance. After that, the training program will focus on marketing, monetization strategy and pitching.

The Developers Zone II starts mid-August, exact dates are chosen once the cohort has been finalized. The program will take place in VENUE.

 

The winning teams in the challenge will receive digital enablement prizes worth SAR 150,000 for 3 winning projects, by receiving financial incentives of SAR 150,000 only after meeting the criteria of the MVPLAB initiative, which will distributed in installments based on the completion of the tasks required to be eligible for each batch by the project.
